Pink Floyd:

I thought that this was a weird song. I was confused by the part where there were little kids singing or them. I thought that there were kids but in another way, I thought it was them because they have weird voices. Also I thought that it was not really necessary to have those parts at the end with the honk and people talking. I was really surprise that they were white and that they were well know with their music. I thought that they were going to be black because they kind of sound like that. Then when it started, it was something weird too. I thought that this song was not like the others ones I have heard.

Bob Marley and the Wailers:

I thought that this was a good song. I have heard and seen pictures of Bob Marley. I never knew that there was a band he was before he went solo. I really like the fact that this song has the rhythm of Jamaican beat like some of now day’s artist Damian Marley. He looks like Bob Marley but I don’t know if they are brothers or not. I would definitely hear this song again because it has a good beat and a cool background.

Stevie Wonder:

I have heard this song before in the radio, in the keyboard, and I think in “That’s So Raven”. I thought that this song has a good rhythm of the guitar and the voice was good. I never knew that it was a black person but there was something in his voice that kind of sounded like a black person. I wonder if he used some piano because I really like the background beat and rhyme it has. I like this song and I think that this is the only song that I have heard from him.

Jimi Hendrix:

I thought that this was a good song. This is more like rock and the other ones in Tuesday or Wednesday. I thought that it had a good tone and good background music with a guitar. I really didn’t like some parts how he sing because it look like he was just screaming to get him point out. I have never heard his music until today and also on the video we saw in class when he was in the hippie concert.

Aretha Franklin:

I really like this song and I have heard this song before. I have heard it on the radio and also in the movie “Are we there yet?” when the girl starts to sing. I really like her voice and when it started, I knew that this was the song I have heard before. I was surprise that someone would write a song about respect and this is the first person that I know do this. Also I wonder why she was so skinny and now she’s bigger and she was pretty. This song may go in my iPod and I think it would be the only one.

The Temptations:

I have never heard this song but I have heard of the group. I really like this song call “My Girl” from them and I think that this was one of the songs that they hit with and was listened a lot and still is. I also hear that song in a movie. I thought that this song on the list was alright and also it is really different than the song I have heard. I wonder why would they would name themselves like this in the first place I mean its not a bad name but just curious.

Gerry & The Pacemakers:

I thought that this was a very calm music and I think that this was an alright song. This song, to me, is more like a slow jam. Also they make the song relaxing and the background music is calm. I have never heard this song before. I also thought that this was an interesting title because the sun can’t really catch you crying. Also I thought that they were weird when it came to their appearance but I know that most of the singers in that time dress and comb their hair like that. I wonder how are they today is they are alive.

The Rolling Stones:

I have heard before the name The Rolling Stones and I have seen a lot of people with the sign of the tongue with a read mouth. I thought that the rhythm of the song was alright and I think that there is an artist that has the same beat. When it started, I knew that the artist had gotten the beat from the rolling stones. She is also somewhat a rock star and sings in Spanish. I guess in a way I can relate to this song.

The Who:

I thought that this was a song that rebels more because of some of the things they say like this is my generation and other things. Also I thought that this was alright but the beat was bam!! This was the first time I hear this song and I think the last time. I like the first one better than this one or the rolling stones. Also they are not really singing but just saying in some parts. I felt that there were some parts that he was going to say bad words and he didn’t day them. This is the first music that I hear that does this on the list.

I thought that this song was alright. I have heard this song before by my parents and I though that the song had good rhyme but this is not really a type of sing that I would have in my iPod. I also like the how is starts him singing and then the music starts in the background. I never knew who sang this song and I didn’t know who the one who sand it was. When I click it, I was impressed that it was this song. Also what I didn’t know is that why someone would would make a song about going around a clock.



I thought that this was a different song that the ones I usually hear. Also this song is different than the other ones because this song is much slower and there isn’t that big of the rhyme just the guitar. When I was hearing this song, some of the parts in the song made me think that I knew this song but the words don’t. I was expecting a better song than this because this is my person and I thought that there was going to be more to it because this is know for the king of the music. To me I thought that this was not a good song of him but for some people they love it. This is an alright song but not a song that would be in my iPod or me hearing this. There are better songs that this one.

I thought that this was an alright song and there was a lot of rhyme and it wasn’t that bad. I thought that this is the second good one from the list. I wonder why this song is call like this because the song talks about him giving her things but there were some of parts that I really didn’t get because he was talking too fast on me and also because there were times that the music on the background was too much or just too loud.

Part II

Section A – Making observations

I thought that so far this is a very interesting book to read. I think that something that stood out to me was that Fermina was in love with Florentino and they had a good relationship. All of the sudden, she doesn’t like him anymore. I thought that this was a horrible thing to do but in another way I understand her because the poem is not everything what a guy has. If they are not that charming and they right good poems, then I would do the same thing as Fermina did. Something that I really don’t like about this book is that they don’t say where this all takes place and also the author talks about one person and then the other. The characters have a lot of flashbacks and there are some parts that I was confused if it was on the pass or in the present. Also one last thing that I didn’t like about this book was that they describe their “love” too much. I really don’t think that a book should have that many descriptions like they do here but I have to admit that the author does a good job on it.

Here are the themes that are being developed in this book so far:

Love ~ There is a lot of love in this book and not just boyfriend and girlfriend love but further than this. Also it has love because this is the whole book about because they also exchange love letters and love for many years.

Illusions~ This is another theme because she thinks that she’s in love with this perfect man and when she sees him, she thinks that this was an illusion and that this was over. She actually felt in love with the guy that was sending the letters but when he saw him, this was over.

Death~ There is a lot of deaths. In then beginning of the book, there was the death of the photographer that did suicide. Then it was Dr. Urbino. He died because he was trying to catch the parrot from the tree and he feel to the ground. Then as the story goes on, Fermina’s aunt dies, and then Florentino’s mom dies. I wonder who else dies.

Social Class~ This was a theme that was in some parts of the story. When it was first showed was when Florentino wanted to go out and marry Fermina. Then her dad knew that Florentino was poor and then he said no. He knew that he wanted a good life for his daughter and he was not going to keep her in a wealthy life or get what ever she wanted. In a way, he was right but in another way, they loved each other. The father took the right decision to get his daughter marry the doctor.

Section B – Asking questions …

I was wondering what this meant,” The telegraph is the professional of the future.” Page 137(bottom)-138(top).

What did Lorenzo Daza wanted to say on page 119 that his daughter was a rose but with a lot of thorns? Was she a complicated girl?

Why would she be influence by her dad and marry Dr. Urbino and not Florentino?

I thought that this was a really good question that I had in mind when I was reading the book. I know that he loved him and then she didn’t but if she married him, she would have done something dumb. I think that there are two sides to it but I don’t know which one I am.

Section C – Quotation Analysis

One of the things that stood out to me was, “the dead have died.” I was kind of confused there because someone that has died is already dead and in this quote, they said that the dead were dead. This is a quote that goes with the theme of death. There has been too much death and love. I also thought that this was a very powerful and meaningful quote but if I don’t get it, how do I know what this means.

Literature Circle Responses - Part I

My book is “Love in the time of Cholera". So far I think that has been a good book.

1.) Predicting

I predict that in the book, there would be a time that Fermina would consider what Florentino told her about going back together. When he first arrive after a lot of years, she couldn’t stop thinking about what she would do and if she should go back with him. I really don’t think that she would go back with him because what makes me think that she would go back to him after a lot of years and if she really loved him, she should of went out with him. Now he doesn’t even write to each other and there is not a big possibility that she would go with him. Maybe later on, Florentino would appear again in her life but now with money and because she is widow, there’s a change for him. This is the only way that I can see them be together. Otherwise, I really don’t think that they should be because she really didn’t like him and what’s the point to be with someone that you don’t love.

2.) Picturing

I could just picture a scene in this book that I would not forget. This scene is when she is going to school and Florentino was at the park. I thought that this was one of the sweetest parts. When I read this part, I can see him hiding behind some trees just to see her. He was risking all for her and then for her just to get over him that quickly. I thought that this was really bad when she said that this was over and that there was no way that this would work. I can image Florentino being destroy and not cheering him up with anything anyone did. He had his heart broken and there was no way that he could get her back because her father would never let his daughter marry a poor man that would not support Fermina.

3.) Making Connections

There are a lot of things that reminds me of Fermina and of what she went through with Florentino. I really would not like to get in detail of my life because I would not like people to know about it. The part is when she is going to a school where they would teach you how to be a good wife and other things that they were suppose to know. When I was young, my parents wanted to send me to a Catholic Church school, but I really didn’t want to go there. It was a school and there are a lot of schools throughout the whole county but they thought that this was one of the best things that could happen to me. Then after a long time, I had the change to convince them and I was not sending there. I would have been like Fermina when she goes to that school.

4.) Identifying a Problem

What I didn’t expect was that in the funeral of Dr. Urbino, Florentino was going to show up. I thought that this was really disrespectful to her and to the doctor that had just passed away. A big problem that I had was to keep tract of when he was talking in the past or a flashback and when he was talking about the present. I thought that there was a confusing part when all of the sudden, she doesn’t want to be with him anymore. I thought that this was not good because I really don’t think that she would forget him just because he wasn’t prince charming. She was not going to get a great guy that had everything and especially that he loved her. I thought that the author should have had a better idea of to why she didn’t want to be with him anymore. Another thing that I thought was the problem is trying to read 20 pages a night. I think that this is a lot but I know that we need to try our best to finish this book when the due date gets here. I have been reading but I this last meeting, I didn’t read all the way and I was surprise that I was not the only one that didn’t get all the way to the page that we needed to be.

5.) Identifying a Solution

I think that a solution would be that I take more notes and that I re-read that section again. But here’s the thing, we have a lot of things to do that sometimes we don’t even have time to do the whole reading. There are a lot of things that are going on and I need to find a way to manage my time and give me time to read this book. I don’t have any trouble reading over the weekend but when it is more difficult in the week. Over the weekend, I can just stay at home instead of going shopping and places to read the book. I think that these are the only problems that I have and their solutions because I really like the conversation that we have in our group. I really like my group and I don’t have any problem about it because there are some parts that they get that I didn’t get and the other way around. So lets see how the other meeting in our literature circles go.

The human Body

The Human Body is something that needs to be taken car of and needs a lot of water.
Also u need to have a certain thing that we need to clean and also eat. If we don't do this, then there are consequences to this. If we don't eat, we don't get our organism working and we can even get sick. Also if we don't take a shower, this could cause dirtiness and stinky.

Electricity is made out of water and if we don't have any water, there would also not be any light for our computers, tv, ipods, and much more things that we have. Besides there wouldn't be any more life. The first thing that would be the effected, would be humans. The human body is made out of more than 60% of water. Water is the most important ingredient that a human can have and without it, there is no way that a human can work without it.

Without Water

This would be impossible to do this because everything is made out of water. There would not be nay food, any water to keep us alive, no shower, and other things. The thing that would most affect us would be us. Our body is made out of 60 percent and if we don’t have this, we would not function or be alive. Scientist are having an estimate that this would happened sooner or later because we have not been taking care of the water that we have. We waste it on too much car washes, showers, fountains, etc. There are things that we really don’t need to have those things but we still use them. There has been a thing that they said on the news that they would tell people to conserve water because they want to keep the sea alive and not letting the sea animals die. Water Project

I have some idea of what we are going to do with the power point. I was thinking that we should have a slide that would show how people benefit from water and then on another slide, we should have what would we do without water. Like tis we can see how much we need water and how important is to take care of it. Then I also have some pictures that we can put. This is my idea so I hope that we can use this b/c our power point would look good.

Chemistry/ Water Project

Good night cuz I am tired!!! See u @ school early~!! Need 2 put final touches on flash thing!! Also when yout get to school call me!!

What I did today afterschool was that I had The "Hot Topics" in the flash and then I tried to make the words move, and I did it!!! Also tomorrow in the morning, Jessica and I will put the final touches b/c I was tired today and also I needed to get home as soon as possible. I thought that this was the best flash thingy that I have done b/c this is the forst one I have ever done in my years at this schools(which this is the 2nd year). If Jessica or Chris C. have any questions you guys can call my cel or contanct me through school mail!!!

About Flash
